Transmission-Only Service
John's Transmissions provides specialized transmission service for most makes and models — domestic and foreign, cars, trucks, and SUVs. We do not offer general auto repair.
We use professional equipment and hands-on experience to identify the cause of transmission problems and recommend the right repair.
If your check engine light is on, you notice slipping, or something just feels off — start here. A proper diagnosis tells you exactly what you're dealing with before any money is spent on repairs.
We inspect symptoms carefully to determine whether the issue is minor, internal, or related to a larger transmission failure.
Hard shifting or a delayed response when you put it in drive are common signs something needs attention — but not every symptom means a full rebuild. We'll tell you honestly what's going on.
When a rebuild is needed, we fully disassemble and rebuild the transmission using quality parts and careful workmanship.
A rebuild means the transmission is completely taken apart, worn or damaged components are replaced, and everything is reassembled and tested. It's the right call when internal damage is found — and often more cost-effective than replacing the entire unit. If your vehicle has stopped moving, slips badly in multiple gears, or has a confirmed internal failure, a rebuild is likely what's needed.
We install rebuilt or replacement transmissions and can discuss the best option for your vehicle and situation.
Sometimes installing a quality replacement unit makes more sense than rebuilding the original — especially depending on vehicle age, mileage, or parts availability. We'll walk you through the options so you can make the right call.

Why choose a specialist
Because transmissions are all we do, we focus on accurate diagnosis and repair decisions instead of treating transmission issues like just another general repair job.
